bison!

i made this bison puppet costume back in april 2009. i had no idea what i was doing, i had never made anything like it before and i really didn't know how to sew but i did it anyway and i am really glad i did because it was a lot of fun and i learned a whole lot by jumping in feet first.

the hump of the bison is like a giant puffy ski mask filled with pollyfill, there are holes in the fur there for vision. the head is sculpted foam and then i glued the fur around it. the head and mouth are controlled by one of those claw things that you can use to pick stuff off the floor with, it is attached to a long cardboard cylinder that rests on your stomach.





i don't think jose the security guard really likes bison, he just walked right on by. video of my bison in action can be seen a couple posts up on my fabrication reel.
